Les Ateliers European Art Gallery features unique sculptures of rare, Carrera marble, bronze and terracotta; and hand painted works of art that transmit extraordinary light representing landscapes from France, including Paris and Normandy; The Atlantic Coast, and the United States including Colorado, the Grand Canyon and New York City. Owned by Sebastien and Karine Richard, this gallery recently immigrated from Beaune in Bourgogne, France.
The family, along with their three teenagers decided to move to the United States after a visit to Scottsdale two years prior to learn English and allow Sebastien (the artist/painter) time to paint an entirely new collection inspired by the Arizona landscapes and weather. Sebastien is known for his scenes of daily life and landscapes. His work is classical with a touch of contemporary. He spent several years in many studios before pursuing his studies at the renowned Art School of Paris. There, he learned many techniques including by-hand mapping with a fountain pen that perfected his detail which blends perfectly with his paintings. He also utilizes a painter's knife, otherwise known as the pallet knife, to create with spontaneity at each and every stroke. His first exhibition dates back to 1993, and he has not stopped painting since that time. In 2001, his works of art began to be recognized throughout the country and sold in many galleries throughout Europe that eventually, earned him several well-regarded Artist Awards.
